How do policies limit our ability to innovate, learn and discover as we seek solutions?
Too often policy makers craft a solution in isolation that is meant to solve today’s problems. They fail to recognize that many better and more effective solutions may become apparent over time that we simply cannot imagine today. The tragedy is that many of today’s laws make those future solutions inaccessible or prevent them from emerging.
This is the theme of our blog. For example, you cannot legislate norms and culture, yet it is there – among our human-to-human engagement on all levels – that many of the most effective changes can be made. It is through that human engagement, propelled by persistence and intention, that we can rise to address some of our most intractable problems.
There are no perfect solutions in a complex world, only competing imperfect ones. What will the future of work look like? What will work/life balance look like? What will environmental sustainability look like? What will commerce look like? We would hope that this remains a diverse and complex moving picture that continues to offer many options and not just a limited number or few.
